Wide-ranging appointments have been made in the government and security bureaucracy in Kyrgyzstan.
According to a statement from the Presidential Administration, by a decree of President Sadyr Japarov, Kanybek Dosmambetov was appointed as Minister of Health, replacing Erkin Checheybayev. Dosmambetov most recently served as the Head of the Jalal-Abad Regional Directorate of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan.
The Head of the Presidential Administration’s Department of Information Policy, Dayirbek Orunbekov, said in a social media post that the healthcare sector requires fundamental reforms. He noted that Dosmambetov has proven himself to be “a reformist and an excellent administrator,” and said that his top priority will be to eliminate the deeply rooted system of corruption in the sector.
Changes also in the State Committee for National Security
New appointments were also made in the committee headed by Kamchybek Tashiev, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Chairman of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan, who is considered the most influential figure in the country after the president.
Accordingly, Kurmanbek Avazov was appointed as First Deputy Chairman, while Daniiel Rysaliyev was назначен Second Deputy Chairman and Director of the Cybersecurity Coordination Center. In addition, Ruslan Mamasadykov, who was removed from his post as First Deputy Chairman of the Committee, was appointed as Secretary of the Security Council of Kyrgyzstan.
President Japarov also appointed his adviser Arslan Koychiyev as State Secretary.
