The Union of Supreme Audit Institutions of Turkic States (TURKSAI), aiming to strengthen intergovernmental cooperation, was founded with the participation of the heads of the Courts of Accounts of Türkiye, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the event, the President of the Turkish Court of Accounts, Metin Yener, said it was a great honor to host the participants in Istanbul, a crossroads of history and civilizations, and to hold such a meaningful meeting.

Yener stated that with the signing of the founding documents, cooperation and solidarity among the supreme audit institutions of countries sharing a common history, roots, and values would reach a new level, adding:

“The growing strength of the Turkic world places greater responsibility on us as audit institutions. Developing a shared audit perspective to ensure the effective, efficient, and lawful use of public resources and to carry our states into the future with confidence is no longer a choice but a necessity.”

He emphasized the importance of increasing regular contacts, expanding joint projects, and strengthening institutional cooperation through training programs among supreme audit institutions.

Underlining that a unique opportunity has emerged to establish stronger cooperation among the supreme audit institutions of Turkic states, Yener continued:

“In this context, joint training programs, common audit projects, strengthening digital audit infrastructures, joint R&D activities in artificial intelligence and data analytics, and auditor exchange programs will empower us both individually and collectively, and elevate the institutional capacity of the Turkic world.”

Yener added that the continuity of states depends on justice, order, and accountability being ensured together and consistently, stating:

“Strengthening our cooperation will contribute not only to our institutions but also to the prosperity of our states, the peace of our societies, and the solid foundation of our shared future. I sincerely believe that the synergy created by TURKSAI will enhance the supreme audit capacity of the Turkic world.”
