Turkic World Documentary Film Festival Award Ceremony at Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University
Turkic World Documentary Film Festival Award Ceremony was held at Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University.
The event held at the Cinema Hall on October 20, 2022 was attended by the Turkish Ambassador to Bishkek Ahmet Sadık Doğan, Rector Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan, Acting Rector Prof. Dr. Asilbek Kulmırzayev, Chairman of the Turkic World Federation of Journalists, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Turkic World Documentary Film Festival Menderes Demir, Chairman of the Turkish Journalists Federation, Member of the Honorary Board of the Turkic World Documentary Film Festival Yılmaz Karaca, President of the Turkic World Studies Foundation Közhan Yazgan, academics, students, moviegoers and members of the press.
The event organized by the Turkic World Journalists Federation and the Turkic World Culture, Arts and Cinema Foundation with the support of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey and the Union of Turkish World Municipalities started with the national anthems of the two countries and the opening speeches.
Ambassador Ahmet Sadık Doğan said “We are soldiers who always cherish the solidarity and unity of the Turkic World. Today, we prove again this solidarity and cooperation by strengthening solidarity among our nations. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the Faculty of Communication. They are making important breakthroughs in the field of cinema, television and radio. It was a great honor for us to learn that there are films from our university that were deemed worthy of awards. This has been achieved thanks to you, our esteemed students, our faculty members who help and guide them, and our University administration. Congratulations to all of you!”
Rector Prof. Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan said, “Our main goal is to serve the Turkic World. For this reason, we are constantly working over the development of our University. We made efforts to be a student-oriented university in particular. Today, we are happy to have achieved this. We are sure that our young people, who are the future of the Turkic World, will not let these efforts go in vain and that they will carry the name of Manas University with dignity. We are here today for the presentation ceremony of the awards, which is an indication of this. There is no limit to what we can achieve. We will continue to provide the necessary support for this and we will achieve greater success together. Young people, let's express this unity once again. Let's be together, prominent and enthusiastic."
Menderes Demir, Chairman of the Turkic World Federation of Journalists, emphasized that Manas University has been one of the project partners of the Turkic World Documentary Film Festival since the very beginning and stated that Communication Faculty of the Manas University is represented at the Festival with great success every year.
After the speeches, the promotional film about the Festival and the award-winning films were screened, and the awards were given to the directors of the award-winning films.
At the gala and award ceremony held on October 14, 2022 at the Haliç University Conference Hall, 4th year students of Radio, Television and Cinema Department of the Communication Faculty Shayır Bakytbekova won the first place with her documentary film "Bridge"; Ayimkul Temirbek was also deemed worthy of the Special Jury Recognition with the movie "Heritage".
