The project of the Kyrgyzstan-Turkey Manas University (KTMU) Faculty of Agriculture will be financed by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization.

Faculty of Agriculture, Department of Plant Protection, Prof. Dr. Tinatin Doolotkeldiyeva’s Project “Technical Assistance in the Implementation of Trials on the Bioremediation of Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs) Contaminated Soils” received financial support from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

The cost of the project, which will last for one year, amounts to US$ 46,367.

The cooperation agreement providing financial support to the project was signed by KTMU Rector Prof.  Dr. Alpaslan Ceylan and FAO Kyrgyzstan Representative Adnan Rauf Quereshi.

The project is aimed to microbiologically clean the soils contaminated with permanently obsolete pesticides around the chemical storage facilities on site.

The field and laboratory studies of the project will be carried out and started under the chairmanship by Prof. Dr. Doolotkeldiyeva.
